Welcome 2020!

Do you set New Years resolutions?

I like the general premise of it however unless they are quite basic and small, it’s quite unlikely that I will stick to them throughout the year. My friends are giving up chocolate or cutting out meat, neither of which I can do haha! There are loads of things I’d like to achieve and do this year. Thinking about it now, I’m not entirely sure how I’m going to do it, but we’ll just see what happens.

This week has been a weird one. Having a bank holiday in the middle of the week always feels a bit strange, and you never really know what day it is. I’ve spent my week at work as well as just chilling at home trying to reorganise my life, getting all those niggly tasks that I have been putting off sorted, cleaning and decluttering and spending time with family.

2019 saw me going to 8 gigs which I can definitely top this year. My favourites were Tom Walker’s free Valentines Day show and Lewis Capaldi even though he was sick and was loosing his voice. I absolutely love seeing artists play live. Not only do you get to see an album brought to life, but you also get to experience new music from the supporting artists/bands.

What I will do in 2020

-Drink more water
I know it sounds silly to even mention this, but I know I definitely don’t drink 2 litres a day. Considering how much I have to talk at work, it should be an easy fix for 2020.

-Stay fit and healthy
I miss the release of endorphins you get from doing exercise. Getting up at the crack of dawn and sometimes not finishing work till late in the evening really does not give me much time or motivation to exercise. One way to remedy this is to stop working crazy hours so that I have more time and energy to focus on me and my wellbeing.

-Screen downtime
I always do a little cheer when I get my weekly screen time statistics on my phone and see that my usage has decreased. I do spend a lot of time in front of my phone and laptop. I really want to get into the habit of switching off earlier in the evening to give myself a break and also hopefully get better sleep.

I already have two destinations that I plan on visiting soon, which has got me really excited for 2020!
